Treatment is done for children with many cavities in teeth and children's teeth with deep grooves. Deep pits and fissures are source of 80% of decay in children and adults. This is mainly because of food and bacterial plaque getting stuck in these tight crevices. Also it becomes very difficult to remove these deposits with brushing. The acids and enzymes released by plaque leads to dissolution of enamel and thus leading to cavity.
